What do ETD and ETA mean?
ETD stands for Estimated Time of Delivery (shipment delivery schedule)
ETA stands for Estimated Time of Arrival (Shipment arrival schedule)
Like in other industries, ETD and ETA terms are often used in the garment industry. International apparel brands and retailers source garment from different regions across the globe.
When sourcing is done through contracts and purchase order, ETD and ETA are important dates for the contract. Especially the buyer’s purchase order (PO) contains this terms.
In a garment factory, when merchandisers communicate with apparel buyer, they use ETD and ETA terms estimated delivery and estimated arrival date.
