When we purchase a branded shirt we first check the garment fit. I have experienced it many times that the fit of the same sized shirt of different brands is different. Then a simple question comes in my mind, why it happens?
As per my knowledge every brand uses standard ‘size chart’ for the Indian customer. Then how their fit varies?
To understand the reason, I did a survey some of our most popular brand in India in 2006. The analysis of the survey has been shown in the following tables. For the study three size of formal full sleeve shirts have been covered. Measurement was taken for the ready-made shirt displayed in the showroom.
