Dr. Arindam Basu

Dr. Arindam Basu, a Ph.D. from University of Leeds, England, has a long experience of leading national level research institutes and researcher for many years. He worked as Director General of Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA), Ghaziabad, Director of Central silk Technological Research Institute (CSTRI), Bangalore and Director of South India Textile Research Association (SITRA), Coimbatore over 23 years. He was Chairman of Textile division council of Bureau of Indian Standard, and chairman of Bureau of Energy Efficiency Textile Industries division. He is presently the co-founder of a company named Nattex Sols Private Limited. He has published around 25 books, including 3 published by the Textile Institute, U.K. He has published around 175 research papers in International and National Journals of repute, including Textile Research Journal, Journal of the Textile Institute, Melliand Textilberichte, Journal of Industrial Textile, Indian Journal of Fibre and Textile Research, etc. He has twelve patents to his credit as an inventor. He is a Chartered engineer and honorary Fellow of Textile Association of India and Society of Applied Biotechnology and Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). He has been recognized as Eminent Engineer by the Institution of Engineers for his life time contribution in research in the area of Textile Engineering. His two books received best technical books of the years, awarded by the Textile Association, India and received two times Gold medals from the Institution of Engineers for his research papers, published in their journals.
